After traveling the country as Elphaba in the second national tour of Wicked and as Janis in the first national tour of Mean Girls, you can currently find Mary Kate Morrissey backstage at the Gershwin, standing by for Elphaba on Broadway. 

Her love for private teaching was sparked during the pandemic when she co-founded a virtual music theater school (@doublenamewitches!) with her best friend and Glinda, Ginna Claire Mason. Over the period of 18 months, Mary Kate built curriculum for 6 original courses and worked with hundreds of students in zoom group settings, private virtual and in person coachings, and group in person masterclasses. 

In this current season, Mary Kate offers a limited amount of coaching hours a week for private lessons and masterclasses, scheduled in time blocks of 30 minutes to 1 hour. Sessions are tailored to each individual student, from regular voice lessons, college audition prep, monologues, pop integration, and acting through song. She loves hearing her students’ goals and watching them succeed.
